EASY EVERYDAY ENGLISH - Mission Statement: EEE wishes to help English learners to better understand and speak conversational words and phrases successfully.

KATHI A. JOHNSON – Originator and Business Executive of Easy Everyday English (EEE) (easyeverydayenglish.com)

Retired ESL Professor at Fullerton College, currently residing in Southern California, USA

Kathi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). While working on her master’s, she became an instructor of ESL for two years, part time, in Adult Education. She taught at Santa Ana College (now Rancho Santiago), Cal State University Fullerton, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (aka Cal Poly), and Fullerton College. After one year of teaching part-time at Fullerton, she became a fulltime instructor. Besides teaching some ESL classes, Kathi was given the opportunity to co-design an official ESL department in the Humanities Division and to write the curriculum for all the courses. She remained at FC and had a beautiful career for 32 years. It was there, while teaching a conversation class, that she realized the need for a more relaxed, ‘real’ way that her students could pick up the conversational language. Out of that, a few years later, she began to create Easy Everyday English. She retired in May of 2014, which has given her the opportunity and the time to develop and work on the website. Kathi came up with the EEE website concept and became the content designer, decision maker, and chooser of all words and phrase entries. She contributes to all parts of the website. She also oversees her staff.

Currently, Kathi tutors English privately. She teaches all skills: listening, speaking (conversation), reading, and writing for students and professionals. She loves to travel and has visited many countries around the word. She is also a feng shui consultant. Mostly she has been busy happily developing her website, easyeverdayenglish.com.

In November of 2016, Kathi authored and published a booklet called 'Pairs and Pears', which is available on Amazon. The booklet was designed and illustrated by Manny Perez. It contains 'commonly used pairs of words that can sometimes be confusing'. She recommends it for ESL learners as well as students in grades 4th and higher.

MEET OUR EEE TEAM:

EMMANUEL (Manny) PEREZ is a Graphic Designer with an avid interest in politics and linguistics. His position in the EEE family is Executive Assistant.  Manny is Kathi’s ‘go-to guy.’  She says that he can do just about anything asked, including art work, sizing of images, audio, research, word-processing of meeting notes, product inquiries, and sometimes helping Kathi in defining word entries. She feels that her website wouldn't be as good without Manny.

NOHEMI VALDEZ, former EEE Assistant, successfully helped Kathi in a variety of tasks, including note-taking, audio, and video content.  Her current employment is as a Social Worker in Orange County, California.

ANGELA WEBSTER co-drafted the first 1,200 words and phrases with Kathi -- currently co-drafting a new booklet of common idioms.
